My name is Ed Carlock. I enjoyed a great career as a professional bench level and outside electronics repair technician. After twenty years of correcting waveforms, I retired. My history goes back to xxxx. The year written of by George Orwell. It was the era of the CB radio craze and the birth of the intergrated circuit. "Big Brother". I wanted to transmit with the big boys on the frequency. But could not because I didn't know the first thing about amplitude or frequency modulation. I solved that problem by entering Ivy Tech in Indiana, (where I learned how illegal CB was tearing up the airways), to study the Engineering Sciences, Particually electronic communications.
I finished my schooling at State Technical Institute at Memphis Tn. in xxxx. After which I was recruited by Federal Express as a telecommunications technician and stationed in Chicago Il.
Over my career, I worked for several major companies that required component level troubleshooting.
I, like many bench techs, eventually came to the point of "burn out". Time comes to move on.
After enduring a brief and boring retirement in xxxx, I decided to try my hand at what I have always enjoyed. The outdoors.
As a kid, I always enjoyed manacuring the lawn and the sweet smell of the first fresh cut grass in the spring. Feeling the pulse of nature as the season begins to change.
I find that the first law of a scientific approach applies to lawn care as well. That is..."the devil is still in the details".
I enjoy looking at a beautifully mowed lawn, a straight line edge and will accept nothing less. All levels must still be true to specs.
Dressing the outdoors landscape was never a job I would put off for another day.
Perhaps in another twenty years, I will look at this retirement thing again. Until then, life is good.
