Position Purpose Provides career development services within the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business (CEMB). Job Function Plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive career development program for the College of Entertainment and Music Business. Job Function Represent Belmont University in external affairs and events involving entertainment and music business employers. Actively build and maintain a network of entertainment and music industry professionals. Develop marketing strategies to communicate comprehensive career services to students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Job Function Collaborate with academic administrators, faculty members, and other relevant constituencies of the institution, and the College of Business Career Development Center in order to enhance students' career development options and success. Job Function Maintain assessment data for the CEMB including First Destination data (placement report) and information on graduating seniors and alumni. Provide data to the Office of Career Services, the College of Business Career Development Center, and the Office of Alumni Relations. Job Function Assist with Towering Traditions, Preview Days, and other college events as needed. Job Function Work closely with the CEMB Strategic Programs Director in developing relationships with entertainment companies in Nashville, NY and LA. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Sedentary work. Occasionally requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and climbing, reaching both high and low. Frequently requires walking and balancing. Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly, hearing conversations, hearing (with acuity), seeing near and far with depth perception and color vision. Ability to research information and provide class presentations and workshops on resume writing, interviewing, and exploring career options. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate various activities and events. Ability to communicate to internal and external customers utilizing effective communication skills including public speaking and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to market services to internal and external customers. Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with members of the community at large. Ability to create letters, reports, presentations and graphs utilizing various software programs including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management. Ability to view and update student and alumni records in the Career Services CareerConnector database and view student and alumni records in Banner.
