Manpower Professional in Jackson, TN is currently recruiting for aMaintenance Managerfor an automotive manufacturer in West Tennessee. The Maintenance Manager will supervise, train, control, coordinate, and organize activities of associates engaged in maintaining all plant utilities. This position reports to the Plant Manager.This is a full-time direct hire opportunity that will require relocation to the Western Tennessee area. Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned: * Maintain and implement preventive maintenance program * Assign and direct activities of associates involved in servicing the plant; direct and coordinate the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment * Develop and implement new and/or improved systems and procedures * Establish policies for inspection, maintenance, and repair of machines, tools, and equipment * Investigate and evaluate causes of plant downtime caused by machine, tool, or equipment failure * Overall plant maintenance and other directives as requested by plant management * Direct activity of the Maintenance Department * Work with all departments to assure effective teamwork, equipment, and personnel to assist in the effective and efficient operation of all plant activities * Responsible for budgeting and follow-up of various costs related to Maintenance Department and managing related costs of operations * Authorize and arrange for purchase of equipment and supplies for Maintenance Department * Responsible for housekeeping and safe operations of equipment and personnel * Coordinate with maintenance personnel to assure safe and efficient machine operations and PM maintenance procedures are maintained Candidates must possess the following: * Four-year degree or technical certification in related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing * Qualified candidates should possess 5-7 years of management experience in a maintenance capacity, preferably automotive * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals * Demonstrate professional and business-like character, which is conducive to good employee relations and teamwork with other departments * Candidates should posses the ability to rely on the use of experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals * Leadership Style: Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with high level of self-motivation. Must be able to work on own initiative and work well in a group * Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to deal effectively with all levels of management
