Work alongside hospital resources such as decision support, finance, and clinical quality to obtain comprehensive data and benchmark current performance against best practice.Utilize Cost Accounting data to assist with service line analytics to include but not limited to: Which service lines are profitable? What is the Contribution Margin and Operating Margin?How are shifts in volume and the mix of services impacting operating margins?What opportunities exist to influence physician behavior and impact the cost-of-care?Analyze detailed hospital analytics that illustrate financial impact of variability in clinical pathways, or clinical integration strategies tied to co-management or other affiliation agreements.Develop comprehensive financial proformas inclusive of a consolidated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow to analyze the projected costs associated with an acquisition.Prepare presentations that distill complex analytics into sound, actionable findings and recommendations and deliver to C-Suite executives. Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant experience and minimum of 2 years project managementAdvanced data management abilities including advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.Thorough understanding of progressive cost accounting principles and techniques and the ability to incorporate them into practical use in a hospital environment. Ability to recommend RVUs at the procedural level for direct and indirect cost components. Hospital-oriented operational and financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, reimbursement methodologies or contractual allowance calculations; understanding of hospital patient accounting.Experience in quantifying performance improvement initiatives, especially as it impacts salaries, supplies, and contract labor.Ability to communicate effectively and directly.Demonstrates excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills; is detailed oriented.Proven team player, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to serving as a strategic member of the team.Takes initiative and has ability to work in a matrix environment with minimal supervision Ideal Qualifications: Experience with EPSi, HPM, Strata, or other cost accounting software tools, or participation in a cost accounting system implementation strongly preferred.Healthcare Provider experience and/or previous healthcare operations consulting experience preferred.Master s degree strongly preferred.Experience making difficult, sometimes unpopular, decisions in the face of adversity.Ability to maintain poise and professionalism in a complex work environment.
