Develop, analyze, and conduct complex financial analyses to assess the viability of long range strategic and financial plans and programs; integrate generally accepted financial and accounting principles, theories, and concepts to develop forecasted income statements, assess balance sheets and cash flow impacts, and monitor results from program and project implementation.Key Functions and Expected Performances:Develop long range projections to model the financial impact of proposed programs and projects; support and reinforce efforts of faculty and staff to sustain results from program and project implementation.using a comprehensive knowledge of economic and financial informationusing a comprehensive knowledge of the role and goals of Vanderbilt departments, with an understanding of accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), applicable regulations, and University policies and proceduresusing excellent written and oral communication skillsInvestigate and analyze detailed accounting system transactions in support of programs and projects; utilize data in the development of forecasted income statements and assess balance sheets and cash flow impacts, and monitor results from program and project implementation.using a comprehensive understanding of accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, appropriate regulations, and University policies and proceduresDesign, develop, and modify computerized financial forecasting models and simulations for specific programs; establish, through research, required databases or accumulate and analyze data from existing databases to perform the appropriate computations and analyses.using an advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database applicationsusing a broad knowledge of Vanderbilts computer and mainframe systemsPresent frequent financial, statistical, and operational reports including analysis of progress toward program/project goals. Analyze budget impact of implemented programs/projects.
