The Middleware Administrator will ensure the stable operation of critical middleware infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve incidents, monitor and forecast capacity needs and help facilitate the construction of new environments and upgrades. In this role, you will work with a diverse range of applications and technology teams. While this position will be expected to contribute to the ongoing operations of many technologies, it will focus on the use and management of IBM’s Enterprise Service Bus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2+ years of experience administering DataPower Appliances including deployment and promotion of DataPower services, including enhancements and automation of the deployment process
• 3+ years of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) admin experience on at least one industry standard ESB is required ( IIB, WebMethods, WSO2, etc.) including experience with ESB installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment of business applications
• 2+ years of experience with scripting languages (Batch, Unix shell, Perl, etc.).
• 2+ years of experience with WebSphere MQ.
• 2+ years of experience with WebSphere Process Server.
• 2+ years of experience with source control tools like SVN, CVS, etc.
• Experience with IBM Integration Bus (IIB) is preferred.
• 2+ Experience with change management within a large organization.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work independently
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide hands on administration of company's Enterprise Service Bus application.
• Provide incident and problem management and troubleshooting of enterprise service bus.
• Incident Management
o Function as first line of support during business hours to analyze, triage, and resolve or route problem reports.
o Manage and execute plans for service recovery and problem mitigation.
o Job will involve occasional 24 hour on-call duties.
• Change Management
o Plan, track and execute maintenance activities surrounding the Enterprise Service Bus.
o Monitor infrastructure for early identification of potential issues.
o Document and track changes to production, testing and development environments.
o Forecast and plan for additional capacity needs.
• Deployment
o Design and implement the hardware environment for a suite of middleware applications.
o Suggest and implement cost saving resource optimizations.
o Work within a managed services organization to install and deploy packaged software applications that augment the enterprise middleware.
