Job Summary:
Defines, designs, and develops business solutions through configuration and software development. Responsible for designing, coding, unit testing, building, deploying, and supporting application software. Works with analysts and architects to define technical direction to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions. Participates in application component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and recommendations. Provides development, quality assurance, integration and configurations services for select technology products. Provides technology support and is involved in the full systems life cycle. May serve internal or external clients.
Illustrative Duties and Responsibilities:
Participates in designing and coding complex features, debugging, unit testing, building configuring, and deploying application software.
Analyzes, designs, and recommends third-party tools and custom applications. Analyzes required functionality and implements customizations to platforms or develops custom solutions to fulfill business requirements
Reviews other developers work to ensure solutions are aligned to architectural specifications and design. Investigates and corrects reported issues against existing software. Recommends performance improvements including tuning, or process changes
Collaborates with team members to understand business requirements and create clear, technical specifications outlining the specific enhancement or functionality required. Supplies estimations, status updates, and escalations to ensure timely delivery of solutions
Provides on-going support to business and content teams managing sites on strategic technology platform
Develops and maintains testing scenarios and prepares necessary test data for thorough unit and integration testing results. Maintains source control, version control, and defect tracking systems.
Must have demonstrated the advanced understanding of Microsoft System Center suite of products and have experience developing management packs using R2 Authoring Console and Visual Studios Authoring Console.
Strong scripting skills including PowerShell and VBScript as well as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible is required.
Will provide ongoing developer support for automation, workflows, reports, management packs, applications, and component integration points.
Develop and maintain automated provisioning scripts and workflows
Maintains system compliance and supports FedRamp controls as published in NIST 800-53 Rev 3, FIPS, and FISMA.
Ensures optimized performances with capacity and resource bursting.
Develop and maintain highly available and redundant services.
Ensures that all operation guides and configuration documents are well written and follows a change management processes.
Uses industry standards for performance and load testing of all applications and software components.
Interfaces with the IT managers, and users on business and technical issues.
Provides maintenance and technical support on solutions, utilizing current and emerging technologies.
Provide robust and rich user experience for internal portals.
Maintain and lead bug tracking systems.
Required Technical Skills:
Candidate MUST be a US Citizen and possess (preferable) or be able to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation.
Demonstrated experience with configuration management, monitoring, and clustering tools.
Experience with ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) tools and techniques
Experience with system configuration and deployment automation technologies
Hands-on programming experience on a Linux/Unix and Windows operating system
Experience designing and building Microsoft System Center applications, scripts such as SCOM management packs, PlayBooks, SCCM scripts and connectors, Service Manager Applications, workflows, and Portal.
A minimum of 2+ years&#xxxx; experience working with UNIX Linux for management pack development and 2+ years of experience working with a bug tracking system and Knowledge of TFS is a plus.
A minimum of 3 years of experience working with Microsoft System Center Technologies such as SCCM, SCOM, SCO, and SCSM and 3 years of experience in Management Pack Development using the R2 Authoring Console and Visual Studio Authoring Console.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications.
